Applied Kinesiology focuses on understanding and treating the muscular structure of the body to discover imbalances or conditions that are causing pain or illness. Kinesiology is one of the most relevant diagnostic techniques currently in use at Sharratt Chiropractic. To understand what this entails, you need to first understand how it works.

What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology refers to the diagnosis of health conditions using the study of muscles. During this type of testing, our chiropractor Dr. Jack Sharratt examines a patient's gait, posture, and other related tests. Special attention is paid to three segments of the body: chemical, mental, and structural. Generally speaking, Dr. Sharratt finds muscles that are functioning poorly and then tries to determine why they are doing so. Often, this is a great way to diagnose underlying conditions causing chronic migraine headache pain, back pain, neck pain, fibromyalgia, and more.

Of course, it is nearly impossible to determine the causes of all symptoms alone from muscle testing. That is why we routinely compare the results with a patient's health history, laboratory results, and a physical examination to rule out other disorders. It is this combination of techniques that usually leads to the greatest health response from patients.

At Sharratt Chiropractic, we have been able to diagnose many disorders through this evaluation technique.
